Anyone with a foot-related concern, or walking/standing-related pain in knees, hips, or back should have an assessment with a Chiropodist. Chiropodists have thorough training with the vascular, neurological, musculoskeletal, and dermatological systems of the body. Chiropodists treat foot pain, heel pain, ingrown toenails, child foot pain/alignment issues, fungal toenails, infections, warts, wounds, and much more. Preventive medicine is the best medicine – catching a problem before it is severe.

Yes, a Chiropodist can perform soft-tissue surgical procedures down to but not including bone. This includes nail removal and procedures. Surgery is considered once conservative therapy options have been exhausted.
-
In Ontario, Chiropodists do not bill OHIP for the services they provide. However, Chiropody services are covered by many third party insurance providers, extended health care plans, Veterans’ Affairs, and/or can be used for income tax health deduction purposes.
We recommend that you contact your insurance provider to determine what your plan covers prior to booking your appointment.

Chiropodists and Podiatrists are the only primary health care professionals that specialize in the treatment and prevention of diseases, disorders, or dysfunctions of the foot. In Ontario, both the American trained Podiatrists and Canadian trained Chiropodists are regulated with the same College of Chiropodists of Ontario. The. vast majority are known as Chiropodists, however there are some Podiatrists still practicing full-scope in larger city centres of Ontario.
Chiropody controlled acts include oral and topical drug prescription, soft tissue surgery, and injections into the foot.
